Find an office in Silicon Roundabout

The beating heart of London’s technology scene, Silicon Roundabout is made up of the areas of Clerkenwell, Farringdon, Old Street and Shoreditch. Caught between the edge of the City and the regeneration of East London, it has become a breeding ground for tech, digital and creative enterprises, from start-ups aiming to be the next big thing to those already leaders in their sector.
Proximity to the West End and the City means that those who choose to base themselves in Silicon Roundabout and its environs can still tap into the expertise of those sectors who prefer more traditional locations, without sacrificing the network and entrepreneurial community the likes of Farringdon and Shoreditch have bred in recent years.
Its reputation as a night spot also means that employers looking to attract young talent can rely upon the pubs, bars and restaurants that have sprung up in the last twenty years to provide an added incentive.
Whether it’s stripped back, warehouse-style office space, edgy new build commercial locations or something more traditional, Silicon Roundabout offers potential inhabitants a variety of offices to suit their requirements.
Old Street
Home of the traffic system that gives Silicon Roundabout its name, Old Street is an intriguing mix of City money and artistic grit, sat between the money men and the original gentrification story of Hoxton Square. Originally attracted by the low rents and good transport links, the success of the early digital businesses has brought new developments, which has led to modern office space to suit the demands of any organisations looking for a bit of East London grit with the comforts of the City.
Farringdon
As part of the borough of Islington, Farringdon sits outside of the City and the West End, and this physical remove has helped craft a unique identity which has seen it become a base for a wide range of businesses. From those drawn to its historic food and hospitality links, to others attracted by its combination of underground and mainline rail links, Farringdon offers its occupants interesting office space in a prime location from which to quickly get to other parts of London and the rest of the country. Previous inhabitants have included Guardian Media Group and JUST EAT, whilst current occupants range from the creative, in agency Karmarama, to the innovative, in virtual worlds developer Improbable, which is funded by the people that backed the likes of Twitter and Facebook.
Clerkenwell
Like Farringdon, Clerkenwell may once have been passed over by prospective inhabitants drawn by either the glamour of the West End or the wealth of the City. Nowadays, its location between the two makes it one of the most attractive places to work in London, with many of its occupants ranking among the leading businesses in the world, including Deloitte, who in 2013 named a fellow Clerkenwell resident, Infectious Media, as the fastest growing tech business in the world.
Shoreditch
The poster child of regeneration, and probably the first place people think about when someone talks about Silicon Roundabout. However, companies that overlook it feeling they aren’t creative or edgy enough miss out on a thriving place to work, with close links to the City and exciting new buildings which offer the latest innovations in office space. For attracting up and coming talent, few places in London can compete with Shoreditch’s cachet, particularly with its proximity to East London, which has long been a place that younger workers gravitate towards when they first move to the Capital.
